Terms And Conditions
Carpet Cleaning SW5 Service Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Carpet Cleaning SW5 provides professional carpet and related cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. By placing a booking, you agree that these Terms and Conditions will apply to any services we provide to you. Please read them carefully before confirming your appointment.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
Client means the person, company or organisation requesting the services.
Company means Carpet Cleaning SW5, the provider of the services.
Premises means the property or location where the services are to be carried out.
Services means carpet cleaning and any additional cleaning or related services agreed between the Company and the Client.
Booking means a confirmed appointment for the provision of services.
2. Scope of Services
The Company offers professional carpet cleaning and related services, which may include upholstery cleaning, rug cleaning, spot and stain treatment, and other associated cleaning tasks as agreed with the Client. The specific services to be carried out will be confirmed at the time of booking and set out in the booking confirmation.
Any descriptions of services, quotations or discussions before the booking are for guidance only. The Company reserves the right to adapt the cleaning method based on the condition, fibre type and construction of the carpets and furnishings encountered at the Premises.
3. Booking Process
Bookings may be made by the Client through the Company’s chosen communication channels. A booking is only considered confirmed once the Company has issued a verbal or written confirmation with the date, time, address, and an outline of the services agreed.
The Client must provide accurate information regarding the Premises, the approximate areas to be cleaned, the type of carpets or upholstery, known stains, and any access restrictions such as parking limitations, security arrangements, or building regulations.
The Company may request photographs or additional details about the areas to be cleaned in order to provide an accurate quotation and allocate sufficient time for the appointment.
The Client must ensure that an authorised adult is present at the Premises at the start and end of the service appointment, unless prior written agreement is made for key collection or unattended access. Where unattended access is agreed, the Client accepts that the Company’s report of work carried out and the condition of the Premises will be final.
4. Quotations and Pricing
All quotations are based on the information provided by the Client and are subject to inspection on arrival at the Premises. The Company reserves the right to revise the quotation if the information supplied by the Client is incomplete or inaccurate, or if the actual condition or size of the areas to be cleaned differs significantly from that described.
Any revised quotation will be discussed with the Client before work begins. If the Client does not accept the revised quotation, the Company reserves the right to cancel the booking. In such a case, a call-out fee may apply to cover the Company’s costs of attendance.
Prices are normally quoted inclusive of labour, standard cleaning solutions and use of equipment, unless otherwise stated. Additional charges may apply for heavy staining, odour treatment, specialist stain removal, moving large or heavy furniture, or access difficulties such as paid parking.
5. Access, Parking and Safety
The Client is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the Premises on the agreed date and time. The Company’s staff must be able to enter the Premises and gain access to electrical power and sufficient water supply required for the cleaning equipment.
The Client must ensure adequate parking is available close to the Premises. Any parking fees or permits required for the duration of the appointment will be charged to the Client, either in advance or added to the final invoice.
The Client agrees to remove fragile, valuable or breakable items from the work areas before the service starts. The Company will not move items such as aquariums, pianos, large display cabinets, or any item that, in the Company’s judgment, poses a risk to health and safety or to the item itself.
Children and pets must be kept away from work areas and equipment for the duration of the appointment. Certain cleaning solutions and equipment can be hazardous if not handled correctly. The Client is responsible for supervising children and pets on the Premises.
6. Payments and Invoicing
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due immediately upon completion of the services. The Company may accept various forms of payment, including cash or card, subject to availability at the time of service. For commercial or account Clients, payment terms may be agreed separately and confirmed in writing.
If the Company requires a deposit, this will be communicated at the time of booking. Deposits may be non-refundable in the event of late cancellation or failure to provide access to the Premises.
If payment is not made on the day of service, the Company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts and to apply administrative fees for late payment and debt recovery. Title to any goods supplied, such as cleaning products left on site, remains with the Company until full payment is received.
7. Cancellations and Rescheduling
The Client may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving the Company reasonable notice in advance of the appointment time. The specific notice period required may be stated at the time of booking. Where adequate notice is given, no cancellation fee will normally apply.
If the Client cancels or reschedules with short notice, the Company reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee, which may be up to the full quoted price of the service, especially where the Company is unable to fill the reserved time slot. Short notice may include same-day cancellation or cancellation within a minimum number of hours before the appointment.
If the Company arrives at the Premises and is unable to gain access, or if the Client is not present where required, this may be treated as a late cancellation and the full service fee may be charged.
The Company may cancel or reschedule a booking where necessary due to events beyond its control, such as equipment failure, staff illness, unsafe conditions at the Premises, extreme weather, traffic disruption, or other circumstances that make it impractical to carry out the services. In such cases, the Company will offer an alternative appointment date and time. The Company will not be liable for any loss arising from such cancellation or rescheduling.
8. Condition of Carpets and Limitations
The Client acknowledges that the effectiveness of carpet cleaning depends on the condition, age and type of carpet fibres, the nature of stains, previous cleaning methods and general wear. The Company does not guarantee complete removal of all stains, odours or marks, especially where these are permanent in nature, have been set by previous treatments, or involve substances that are impossible to remove without damaging the fibres.
Pre-existing wear, fading, sun damage, weak or loose fibres, deterioration, and previous damage may become more visible after cleaning. The Company is not responsible for such pre-existing conditions or for any damage arising where the carpet or fabric is already defective, poorly installed, loosely fitted or weakened.
The Client must inform the Company of any known issues, including prior damage, colour run, shrinkage, loose seams, or areas where the backing or underlay is compromised. The Company may decline to treat areas it considers at high risk of damage.
9. Client Responsibilities
The Client is responsible for:
Ensuring the Premises is accessible and safe for the Company’s staff.
Removing small furniture, clutter, and personal items from the work areas where practicable.
Informing the Company of any delicate fabrics, special finishes, or areas of concern before work begins.
Following aftercare advice provided by the Company, including drying times and restrictions on walking over freshly cleaned carpets.
The Company is not liable for damage or re-soiling caused by the Client failing to follow aftercare guidance, such as walking on damp carpet with dirty shoes or replacing furniture before carpets are dry.
10. Waste Handling and Environmental Responsibilities
The Company will handle and dispose of any waste generated during the provision of services in accordance with applicable waste management and environmental regulations. This includes the responsible disposal of used cleaning solutions, extraction waste water, and any packaging materials brought to the Premises.
The Company will not remove or transport general household waste, bulky items, or hazardous materials unless this has been expressly agreed in advance as part of a separate service. The Client is responsible for any waste or materials that fall outside normal carpet cleaning activities.
Where applicable, the Company may use environmentally considerate products and methods. However, certain situations may require the use of stronger solutions to achieve acceptable cleaning results. The Company will endeavour to use such products safely and in line with manufacturer instructions and relevant regulations.
11. Damage, Liability and Insurance
The Company undertakes to exercise reasonable care and skill in providing the services. The Company holds appropriate insurances for its activities, subject to policy terms and conditions. The Client must report any alleged damage or issues as soon as reasonably possible and, in any event, within 48 hours of the services being carried out.
The Company’s liability for any loss or damage arising from the provision of services, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, will be limited to the value of the services provided on the day in question, or the amount recoverable under its insurance policy, whichever is lower.
The Company is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profits, loss of income, loss of use, or loss of opportunity. The Company is not responsible for loss or damage arising from inaccurate information supplied by the Client, failure to follow aftercare instructions, or events beyond the Company’s reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by the Company’s negligence or fraud.
12. Complaints and Service Issues
If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the services, the Client should notify the Company as soon as possible, ideally while the Company’s staff are still on site so that any issues can be addressed immediately. If this is not possible, the Client must raise any concerns within 48 hours of the appointment.
The Company may request photographs, access to inspect the Premises, or further details about the issue before deciding on an appropriate remedy. Where a complaint is justified, the Company may offer a re-clean of the affected area, a partial refund, or another form of resolution at its discretion.
13. Personal Data and Confidentiality
The Company will collect and process personal information from the Client only for the purposes of administering bookings, providing services, handling payments, and managing any follow-up communication. The Company will take reasonable steps to keep such information secure and to use it in a lawful and proportionate manner.
The Company’s staff will treat information about the Client and the Premises as confidential and will not disclose it to third parties except where required for the provision of services, for legal or regulatory reasons, or with the Client’s consent.
14. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will apply to any new booking made after the date on which the revised Terms and Conditions take effect. The version provided or made available to the Client at the time of booking will apply to that specific booking.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the services provided by the Company, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.
16. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
No waiver by the Company of any breach of these Terms and Conditions shall be considered a waiver of any subsequent breach. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Company and the Client in relation to the provision of services, and supersede any previous agreements, understandings or arrangements, whether written or oral, relating to the same subject matter.
